Cataract surgery is a surgical procedure that often causes anxiety in patients, and patient knowledge of the surgical procedure is thought to play a role in reducing this anxiety. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and anxiety in pre-operative cataract patients in the Operating Room of RSUD Jampangkulon. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study were all patients who would undergo cataract surgery at RSUD Jampangkulon, with a sample of 86 respondents obtained through accidental sampling technique. Data were collected using a closed questionnaire to assess the knowledge and anxiety variables. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate methods with the chi-square test. The results showed that most respondents had a sufficient level of knowledge (40.7%) and experienced moderate anxiety (53.5%). The chi-square test result showed a p-value of 0.003 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between knowledge and anxiety in pre-operative cataract patients. This study is expected to serve as a basis for strengthening pre-operative education interventions to reduce anxiety levels in patients undergoing cataract surgery.
